Welcome to the Potato King's Red Dwarf Homepage

"So let me get this straight. You want to fly on a magic carpet to see the King of the Potato People and plead with him for your freedom, and you're telling me you're completely sane?" -- Uncle Arnie

My Attempt at a Coherent Red Dwarf Timeline

From recent experience, if you ever want to watch every episode of Red Dwarf in order (for eighteen hours, that is), do not, I repeat, do not start at 7:30 in the evening.

You see, I have all the episodes on audio tapes and I began listening to them last night, but at 4:30 this morning (after The Last Day), I had to go to sleep. After breakfast, though, I started back up and should be through with them by nine this evening.

Stunts like this will of course be even more difficult once they broadcast season seven (Jan. 97) and there are 44 episodes. 22 hours. . . . hm. I'll have to try it once I get them, but I'll make sure to watch them on television instead of my headphones, and maybe with my sister as well. She's watched X-Files and Highlander into all hours of the night, so she might be able to do a Red Dwarf Marathon.

Actually, Channel 9 (PBS in Seattle) used to show all the episodes of Red Dwarf in one day with gaps between while they asked for money. I first saw Red Dwarf when they showed their marathon of the first three seasons. The next year, I taped them all (cutting out the pleading) during their four series marathon. For the last two series, though, they've taken longer than one day to show them all. For series five, they showed the first four seasons on a Saturday and series five on Monday evening. For series six, they broke it up into three days. It'll probably take them a week to show seven series!

Series 1 and 2: the grey seasons
Series 3 and 4: the green seasons
Series 5 and 6: the red seasons
Series 7 and 8: the blue seasons (sure, why not?)
Movies 1 and 2: the mauve films (just having a guess)

In series one, they never leave Red Dwarf.
In series six, they never see Red Dwarf.
It's actually quite gradual, though.
