A little something about pizza...

Here at Rice University (who knows, maybe this is just at Lovett College), someone from Villa Roma Pizza comes around every week or two and leaves little ads on all the doorknobs. Todd decided to write them a note. Here's Todd's Letter to the Villa Romans:

Dear Villa Roma,
Thanks for the paper replicas of your pizza.
Frankly, I can't taste the difference between
these & your normal pizza. By giving these to
me for free every week, I no longer need to order
from you. Thanks so much for the convenience!
-Todd

Now, I personally like Villa Roma pizza, although their marketing stratagy is a bit unwanted, and since I have ordered many pizzas from them, I can tell you, Villa Roma pizza does not taste like cardboard. It is, in fact, quite greasy. Domino's Pizza is the one that tastes like cardboard.

I like to order green olive and pineapple pizzas from Villa Roma. Just now, I ordered one from Domino's. Not nearly as good. The olives were all shriveled, the pineapples were stringy, and it tasted like cardboard anyway. I'll have to try Papa John's or Pizza Hut to see if they can top Villa Roma for green olive and pineapple pizza. Despite the lower quality of pizza, Domino's was cheaper and it included a can of Coke. Coke has 46 mg of caffeine per can. Mountain Dew has 55. Jolt has 71. Dr. Pepper has 40. One of those canned iced teas has about 70. Vivarin has 200. 50 Vivarins is equal to the official lethal dose of caffeine. That's 10g of caffeine. A pound of chocolate would do serious trouble to a dog. It's not the caffeine, but another chemical that always follows it around.

Most root beer doesn't have caffeine, but Barq's does. They "add it as a flavouring agent for the sharp bitterness." And that's only 26mg per can. For some reason, Diet Mr. Pibb has 59 mg per can. Regular Mr. Pibb has only 41.

A&W Cream Soda now has caffeine! I don't know how much, but I think it tastes better, anyway.

Did you know that Mountain Dew in Canada doesn't have caffeine?

Offered a piece of my pizza to Jeff. Asks what's on it. Forgot to mention the cheese; forgot he's allergic to dairy products. Oh, well, more for me.

Here's a model of the caffeine molecule. Blue is Nitrogen, green is Carbon, red is Oxygen, and white is Hydrogen.
